Bora Bora is a small island northwest of Tahiti in French Polynesia, in the South Pacific. It is renowned for its scuba diving and is surrounded by sand-fringed Motus (islets) and a turquoise lagoon covered by a coral reef. It is also a popular destination for luxury resorts, where some guest bungalows are perched on stilts above the water.
Bora Bora's island rises from the deep water's dark blues into the lagoon's lighter hues and into the air that surrounds the island. Its sea breeze touch tingles the skin. The strength fills every heartbeat.
Bora Bora, with a lagoon of turquoise waters resembling a palette of vivid blues and greens from an artist, will at first sight make you feel love. Romantics from all over the world love Bora Bora, where Mount Otemanu's lush tropical slopes and valleys blossom with hibiscus.
Many dishes also include chicken, pork, sweet potatoes, breadfruit, rice, local fruits and vegetables including papaya, mangoes, pineapples, bananas and fafa, which is a spinach type. The most popular dessert served on the island are the Banana or papaya purees known as po'e.
Bora Bora has a tropical climate divisible into wet and dry seasons. The wet season is with high humidity and plenty of cloud cover from November to April. Although the wet season is commonly considered as the off season for tourism, it is preferred by many visitors because the island is much less crowded than other times of the year. The dry season, which lasts from May until October, is the strongest weather.
The traditional pit ovens are used to cook much of the food. The ovens are created by digging a hole in the earth, and the stones put in the hole are fire heated. The food is wrapped in leaves of bananas and placed onto the hot stones and then coated with soil and baked for several hours. This form of the oven is called an ahimaa and tamaaraa is the traditional feast
Fish is Tahitian's principal staple diet. Fish is often marinated until they are baked or grilled in coconut milk. Poisson cru is a very common dish made from raw fish marinated with lime juice, which is often served in a salad. There are also several dishes of chicken, pork, sweet potatoes, bread fruit, rice, local fruits and vegetables such as papaya, mangoes, pineapples, bananas and fafa
Just public beach at Bora Bora, accessible by bus or taxi from Vaitape. On Matira Point's west side which makes it a great sunset spot. It has a beach that extends for miles out into the sea and some services for public change are in place. Bora Bora is a quiet, romantic location. I am sad to say that there is very little nightlife other than a fun dinner in a restaurant or per person.
Usually this is not a 'singles' or 'gang' spot. The Four Seasons Sunset Bar is the best spot to indulge in drinks or a meal and enjoy the sunset. The bar is located above the lagoon, overlooking Mount Otemanu. They serve a variety of mixed beverages, as well as food, wine, beer, champagne and tropical drinks. It is a perfect place to relax and just watch the night start after sunset.
The St. Regis Resort bar is a perfect place to enjoy a cocktail, have some food and just relax. The bar is relatively wide and has plenty of seating with beach views and a pool counter. The menu is outlined in just as large a dictionary as a massive blue book. The menu is composed of a wide variety of frozen specialty drinks, choices of champagne, wine and beer, and non-alcoholic beverages.
